Our driver took us up into the mountains and parked when the road narowed to the point we could not continue. He met a lady who took us on up the mountain so we could see where the river comes down and to the water treatment plant where her husband works. Along the way, we met another 'grandmama' carrying 10 liters of water on her head. She lives on the other side of the mountain and walks every day down the mountain to get water and then carries it back up to her family. Perthena and I both tried to balance the water on our heads and could not even stand up straight let alone walk! Both ladies were very friendly and the view from the mountain was spectular!

This story makes me thank God for everything I have. We do take things for granted. These two women you talk about in this blog are amazingly strong women, how I could not imagine having to do the things they do on a daily basis in order to survive. It must be very intresting to meet them. Im grateful that you are able to share these amazing stories with us, we can learn so much from them. It looks like your having an amazing time. It must be very nice to have the oportunity to go out and make a difference and learn from these situations like you are doing. Good luck and keep safe!

How amazing!! Reading this blog made me feel very guilty for complaining once when a pipe busted in my kitchen and I had to get water from my bathroom...10 feet away. I enjoyed reading all of your blogs, what a great adventure and wonderful thing you are doing!
