Maputo, Mozambique
3 flights and 49 hours later I am once again in Maputo, Mozambique! Our team is staying at the Serena Polano Hotel in the middle of town. This is an historic hotel that was totally renovated 2 years ago. It is gorgeous.
Our educational consultant team will be here for 2 weeks with a different focus for each week. Tomorrow begins a 2-day meeting with all the international partners assisting Mozambique implement sustainable laboratory and university best practices. ASCP has been asked to lead the discussion between the partners, MoH, MoE, laboratories, and universities and develop a strategic plan with partners moving in the same direction. I am looking forward to such a collaborative meeting and have high hopes for future plans for the medical laboratories and medical lab science graduates!
I love being in Maputo and our hotel is on the Indian Ocean! Plus our hotel has A/C! I am feeling a bit pampered tonight. Of course, on Saturday we will fly to Nampula and leave the luxuries behind and fee 95 degrees of hot and humid! More tomorrow.
