Kiev, Ukraine

Intercontinental Hotel where we stayed in Kiev

This is my first trip to Kiev, Ukraine. I am from Louisiana, USA, and was a bit concerned about the cold weather the Ukraine has been having, but it has warmed up a bit and we have had a delightful week meeting with university and college faculty, touring medical laboratories, and discussing future collaborative endeavors with CDC-Ukraine.
Kiev is the capital and the largest city of Ukraine, located in the north central part of the country on the Dnieper River. Kiev is an important industrial, scientific, educational and cultural centre of Eastern Europe. It is home to many high-tech industries, higher education institutions and world-famous historical landmarks. The city has an extensive infrastructure and highly developed system of public transport, including the Kiev-Metro.
The name Kiev is said to derive from the name of Kyi, one of four legendary founders of the city (brothers Kyi, Shchek, Khoryv, and sister Lybid). The Ukrainian spelling is Kyiv. For more information please follow this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiev
Our ASCP group stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel located adjacent to St. Michael's Monastery. This was a great location as we could walk all over the downtown area.

We were treated to a 'Friendly Lunch" at the Medical College after a collaborative meeting with Ukrainian Medical Laboratory Scientist educators. Curriculua is very similar in both the USA and Ukraine!

St. Andrew's Cathedral

It is said that this Cathedral was built on the highest mountain in the city to proclaim Christianity to the world!

Hi,

I have some questions about ASCPi accreditation for Ukrainians. Is there a way to email you or call you.

Thank you.
