J'berg Airport

Here Travis Price (Med Tech professor at Univ of Utah) and I are in the airport after a 15 hr flight from Atlanta - went well and now we are waiting for our last flight to take us to Maputo, Mozambique. Actually I just have a few pics of concourse A while we are waiting to board! The airport is international, huge, and very modern. Complete with Giraffes and other African wildlife!

Back to Maputo, Mozambique

This trip we have a team of 4 ASCP consultants and 2 ASCP staff going to work with 30 faculty members at ISCISA. We will be presenting a Laboratory Teaching Methodologies Workshop, specifically targeting laboratory lessons and how to plan and give a laboratory experience to students before they enter their clinical attachments! The ISCISA campus is well equiped with classrooms, technology, and has 2 laboratories each able to accomodate 15 students at a time. a few of the lessons include: Teaching QC and Levey Jennings charts, How to write objectives and use rubrics to grade objectively; Phlebotomy; How to make a blood smear and perform a WBC differential!! We developed this workshop specifically for ISCISA and hopefully will meet all their needs.
