Phlebotomy Lounge

This is the place to comment on where you work and anything related to phlebotomy: difficult veins, difficult patients, order of draw, equipment needed to draw quality specimens, etc...
I encourage the participants at St. Mary's hospital in Durban, South Africa to respond and then the students in Louisiana, USA, to do the same- you all have alot in common and will benefit from each other.

I arrived in Durban

The flights over were terrific and my luggage arrived with me! Airlines are great.
Our Bread & Breakfast is fantastic. Tomorrow, Sunday, our small group will take off sightseeing with Tess, CDC-South Africa, acting as tour guide. More later.

New Adventure and Opportunity in South Africa

I, along with 2 others, are traveling to South Africa from Jan 21 til Feb 1, 2008, to work with four different groups of nurses and other health care givers and update them on phlebotomy skills, proper patient identification and infection control. I welcome comments and questions from interested viewers/visitors and especially my students at LSUA.
